Job Description

  • Advise clients on the design, implementation, and compliance of employee benefit plans, including retirement and health plans.
  • Provide guidance on executive compensation arrangements, including equity-based compensation and deferred compensation plans.
  • Assist clients with compliance under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support clients through corporate transactions by conducting due diligence and addressing employee benefits and compensation issues.
  • Prepare and review plan documents, contracts, and other legal materials.
  • Work collaboratively with other legal and professional teams to deliver comprehensive advice.
  • Stay updated on legislative and regulatory developments affecting employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Provide training and educational resources to clients on relevant legal matters.

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate should have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission and good standing to the California State Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and other regulations related to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Experience advising clients on employee benefits in the context of corporate transactions.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
