Job Description

The Managing Director Belgium will assume full P&L responsibility for the Belgian entity, with a commercial focus to drive a strategic turnaround and restoring financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership of the Belgian operations, develop and execute a comprehensive turnaround strategy.
  • Drive commercial excellence and strengthen key accounts.
  • Reposition the business within the Belgian market, identifying growth opportunities and differentiating value proposition.
  • Build, develop, and motivate a high-performing leadership team, fostering accountability and performance culture.
  • Strengthening relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the steel value chain.
  • Ensure alignment with Group strategy while adapting execution to local market dynamics.
  • Promote a strong culture of health, safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven senior leadership experience (Managing Director / General Manager level) within the steel industry (mandatory) - ideally in distribution, processing, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading a turnaround, specifically transforming a loss-making business into a profitable operation.
  • Strong commercial background with experience in B2B industrial sales environments.
  • Extensive P&L management experience, including cost restructuring and margin improvement.
  • Fluent in Dutch/French and English.
  • Resilient, hands-on, and results-oriented leadership style.
