The Associate, Real Estate Transactions & Leasing will play a pivotal role in supporting clients with commercial real estate transactions and leasing within an established full service real estate boutique law firm based in Dumbo, Brooklyn (in office 3 days-week). This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on matters, providing legal expertise with direct access to clients.

Job Description

As Associate, Real Estate Transactions & Leasing, responsibilities include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements, purchase agreements, and other real estate-related contracts.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.
  • Conduct due diligence, including title and survey reviews, to identify potential risks and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws and regulations.
  • Manage and oversee closings for real estate transactions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments affecting real estate and leasing practices.
  • Work with and support the Transactions & Leasing Group Partner with complex real estate matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all legal matters handled.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Associate, Real Estate Transactions & Leasing should have:

  • A Juris Doctor degree from a US accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New York bar.
  • At least 4 years experience handling varied commercial real estate matters e.g. transactions, leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, real estate developments, condominium and cooperative formations and buy-sell, construction/ design contracts, corporate governance, mortgage and mezzanine financing.
  • Exceptional client ethos and excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently
